ALT EGO have started 2018 on an exciting note following the official release of their second music video “Embrasse Moi”.
“Embrasse Moi” (which means “kiss me” in French) is the second hit single of the group’s debut album. Following the notable success around “Get Wild” (featuring Amy Tjasink), Jody Abel and Callen Petersen are aiming for more growth and success on the national and international music scene with their latest release.
The music video was shot and produced in association with Sunglass Hut SA in Johannesburg. The duo believes that the music video effectively captures the song’s mysterious essence.
“The story is focused on a typical night out – night time drive, red carpet walk and socialising on a hotel rooftop… eventually ending off with dancing at the nightclub,” they explain.
“Lindy Lin – who plays the lead character – is a figment of our imagination. While watching the music video, you’ll eventually realise that we never make direct contact with her.
“In true ALT EGO spirit, she immersed in our imagination. Dressed in style and glamour, she adds a special touch to our night, which eventually concludes with a kiss – “EMBRASSE MOI”!”
ALT EGO adds that the song is their personal favourite hit off the album.
“We absolutely love “Embrasse Moi”. Although there are no lead vocals, the song has an awesome vibe and is very catchy. Who knows… maybe we’ll add vocals to the track in the near future!”
While “Embrasse Moi” has been released to the public on ALT EGO and Acoustic Element’s social media platforms, the duo are currently enjoying some downtime after a hectic festive period schedule.
Callen will be jetting off to Bali for an island getaway, while Jody will be enjoying some free time in the Mother City.
“We try and enjoy some time away from the stage in January and February as rejuvenation is important, especially after playing so many gigs over the festive season. However, we’re anticipating a busier 2018 as the booking requests are already flooding in! We’re looking forward to a fruitful year ahead.”
